Tubeere Balamu Health Camp Concludes In Kyaggwe. – Day 2

The two-day Tubeere Balamu health camp, held in Kyaggwe, has come to a close, with many residents benefiting from free medical services. The camp was officially closed by Bishop Bukenya Dunstan, retired Bishop of Mityana. Health workers conducted health education sessions, focusing on malaria prevention, among others.

Health Minister Buganda Kingdom Oweek Voyilda Nakate emphasized the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles, including good nutrition, regular exercise, and vaccinations. Omuk. Eddie Kaggwa Ndagala, CEO of Kabaka Foundation, urged the community to push politicians to plans for healthcare during campaigns.

Retired Bishop Bukenya Dunstan, in his closing remarks, thanked all partners and medical workers for their efforts in extending medical services to the community. He encouraged the Kabaka’s subjects to embrace the Tubeere Balamu Yinsuwa insurance scheme, which costs only 198,000 per annum. The camp was a resounding success!

“Tubeere Balamu Yinsuwa” Life Insurance Launched in Tubeere Balamu Health Camp – Kyaggwe – DAY 1

The Kabaka Foundation and Buganda Kingdom, in partnership with Jubilee Insurance, Werinde Insurance Brokerage, Airtel Uganda, today launched Tubeere Balamu Yinsuwa – a life insurance scheme designed to safeguard the people of Buganda. The launch took place during the Kyaggwe Health Camp at Kyaggwe Ssaza Grounds and was officiated by Omulangira Daudi Chwa who delivered the Kabaka’s message. In his message, the Kabaka encouraged his subjects to embrace the insurance scheme and commended partners for supporting the Tubeere Balamu community health campaign.

The event was graced with the presence of Bishop Enos Kitto Kagodo of Mukono Diocese, Bishop Henry Katumba Tamale (Kabaka Foundation Board Member), Ssekibobo Vincent Matovu, Jennifer Mirembe of Werinde, a team form Jubilee Insurance, alongside various medical institutions.

  Tubeere Balamu is an initiative of the Kabaka, implemented through the Kabaka Foundation, to deliver free medical services across Buganda’s 18 counties. Kyaggwe marks the 5th camp, with thousands already benefiting from screenings, treatment, and health education. The newly launched Tubeere Balamu Yinsuwa life insurance scheme aims to ensure the sustainability of this health campaign.

Kabaka Foundation Tubeere Balamu Health Campaign Kyaddondo

The two-day Tubeere Balamu Kyaddondo camp has come to a successful end, despite being hit by heavy rains. The camp, which was officiated by the Katikkiro of Buganda Oweek. Charles Peter Mayiga, was honored by the presence of Omulangira David Wassajja, who delivered the Kabaka’s message.

Notable stakeholders who attended the event included:
– Oweek. Christopher Bwanika, Attorney General of the Buganda Kingdom
– Oweek. Cotilda Nakate, Minister for Social Services, Buganda Kingdom
– Archbishop Emeritus Augustine Kasujja of the Catholic Church
– Bishop Hanington Mutebi, Assistant Bishop of Kampala
– Bishop Tamale Katumba of the West Buganda Diocese and new Trustee of the Foundation
– Supreme Mufti Mohammed Galabuzi
– Hon. Balimwezo Ronald Nsubuga, MP Nakawa East 
– Godfrey Ssebana, CEO of Diamond Trust Bank.
Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, emphasized the importance of prioritizing health and regular medical check-ups. He encouraged everyone to prioritize their health over unnecessary expenditures on things like alcohol, parties, and other indulgences. The Katikkiro also urged attendees to adopt healthy lifestyles, including a balanced diet, regular physical exercise, and adequate water and rest.
The Executive Director of the Kabaka Foundation, Hon. Kaggwa Eddie, thanked all partnering institutions for their collaboration, which made the camp possible. During the camp, thousands received free medical services, including:

– Health education
– Treatment for various conditions
– Screening
– Safe male circumcision
– Eye and dental services
– Psychotherapy
– HIV/AIDS testing and treatment
– Management of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The camp also conducted a blood donation drive on both days.
The camp was officially closed by the Kyaddondo county chief; Kaggo Hajji Ahmed Magandaazi.

Notably, the Kabaka Foundation has been conducting similar camps across Buganda, with the goal of covering all 18 counties. The Tubeere Balamu Community Health campaign is a response to the Kabaka’s commitment to providing accessible and affordable healthcare services to those in need.
